Dry Standpipes
Dry standpipe installations are designed exclusively for use by emergency services in tall buildings where firefighters cannot access from cranes. Dry standpipe systems consist of a network of pipes that are empty until they are needed. When a fire is declared in a tall building, firefighters pump water from their fire trucks through the building’s exterior standpipe connection to the dry standpipe network. The water is then used for firefighting through hoses connected to existing floor outlets on each level.
